TriStars Hauraki Kids Triathlon – A Day to Remember!
What a spectacular day for the inaugural TriStars Hauraki Kids Triathlon! Held under blue skies and sunshine, the event saw 100 enthusiastic young participants swim, bike, and run their way through a fun-filled morning designed to encourage confidence, participation, and community spirit.

From start to finish, the smiles said it all. Whether it was their first-ever triathlon or just another excuse to get active with friends, the kids gave it their all—cheered on by proud whānau and a sea of friendly volunteers.
The event was proudly a participation-only format, with the focus on giving it a go and having fun. Every child who crossed the finish line received a certificate of achievement and a refreshing juice to celebrate their effort—small touches that made a big impact.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our incredible volunteers, who played a crucial role in making the event a success. Support came from across the community, including the Hauraki District Council and Ngatea Lions Club, and a host of local legends who generously gave their time to help guide, support and encourage every step of the way.

The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many already asking when the next one will be. And judging by the energy on the day, it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing even more smiling faces at the start line next year!
